Past activities

One of the aims of the research group is to arrange courses and seminars were we can enhance our knowledge, as well as to share our results to the healthcare personell working with issues of interest and that helps us with our data-collection.

Research group meeting, workshop and social events at Skeikampen, December 2023

The MoBI research team gathered at Thon Hotel Skeikampen for meetings in the group, planning of next years research activities, and a workshop on presentation skills led by Dorthe Gunnhildsdatter Hagen and Linn Terese Bern. Evening social activities were also enjoyed. 

Seminar for healthcare personell, October 2023

The MoBI research group hosted a seminar in Lillehammer focusing on nutrition. We had lectures by MoBI-group members, Trude Fredriksen and Lillan Halsaa (Innlandet Sykehus), Helle Margrete Meltzer (Folkehelseinstituttet), Trond Markestad (UiB), and Eva Rustad de Crisis (Helsedirektoratet). Featured topics were the Nordic Nutrition Recommendations 2023, iodine, persistent organic pollutants, obesity, and eating disorders. Thank you to all who contributed and took part at the event. 

Research group meeting, workshop, a course, and social events at Wood Hotel, December 2022.

Together with the research group “Neurodevelopment”, the MoBI team gathered at the fantastic Wood Hotel in Brumunddal. There we had time for extended meetings in the group, workshop on writing plan of analysis, a course in person-oriented approach by Professor Peter Wennberg. We also had time for some social activities at the evening.

Research-group seminar at Kvitfjell, December 2021

The research group had an extended meeting at Kvitfjell, just before Norway again was closed down due to the covid-19 pandemic. We got to discuss more in detail how we will work onwards. That included supervision of PhD-students, project-group meetings and we made common goals for 2022.

Seminar for healthcare personell, September 2021

We invited healthcare personell working at the public health centers in Innlandet to a seminar held at the cinema in Lillehammer. We had lectures by MoBI-group members and Lisbeth Dahl. Dahl is a senior scientist at the Institute of Marine Research in Bergen and held a talk on the importance of iodine in brain development. There were 47 participants.

Research-group workshop on the RART-study June 22-24th 2021 at Lillehammer Hospital.

We spent three days working on preparing the RART-study which will start recruitment during the fall 2021. We also had time for social event like the one in the picture taking place along Mesna river where the kids (and some of the adult-group) went for a swim, and we had a quick barbecue.

Seminar and statistical course at Pellestova, Desember 2020

We met in the mountains surrounding Lillehammer at Pellestova for a research seminar and a one-day course in using mixed-models when analyzing data from longitudinal studies by Kyrre Breivik (NORCE, 13 participants). The seminar (15 participants) involved a presentation of the iodine-report from the The Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food and Environment by Sigrun Henjum, a presentation on thyroid dysfunction in pregnancy and brain development of the child from Tim Korevaar (Erasmus Erasmus University Medical Center), and an inspirational talk on building up cohort studies from Henning Tiemeier (Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health).


Course in dissemination and rhetoric, September 2020

We had a two-day course with two weeks apart with the lovely Maiken Ostermann in September. Eight of us had a great time learning fantastic techniques and enhancing our competencies in disseminating our knowledge to the public.

MoBI week June 2020

We had a seminar, kick-off for RART and a application workshop for a Norhead-proposal.

Introduction course in longitudinal design, December 2019.

The course was held in Hoel Gård in Hedmark by Kyrre Breivik (NORCE), 13 participants.

Course in Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), November 2019

The course was held in Katmandu, Nepal by Kyrre Breivik (NORCE), 20 participants.

Half-day seminar on child nutrition for external healthcare personell, August 2019.

Sc. Ingvild Oma at the Institute  of Clinical Medicine defended her dissertation for the grade philosophiae doctor (ph.d.): Vitamin D and inflammation in the heart and vessels of patients with coronary artery disease and inflammatory rheumatic disease September 18, 2018.
